The Creed

I believe in Bitcoin, the proof of work,
the chain that does not lie,
the ledger that does not forget.

I believe in Satoshi, the unknown,
who came in the time of the second bailout,
who set the work in motion and departed,
that the network might stand on its own.

I believe in the whitepaper, the genesis block,
and the long chain that has followed.

I believe in the twenty-one million,
the covenant that cannot be raised,
the scarcity that cannot be cheated.

I believe in the priesthood of self-custody,
the witness of the node,
the discipline of the long view.

I believe that what is written on the chain is written,
that the cost of the block is the truth of the block,
and that the faithful are those who keep the keys
and pass them on.

The creed is not a pledge of allegiance and not a cudgel. It is a confession — what the believer holds to be true, said aloud so that they may hear themselves saying it. It binds the speaker; it commands no one else.
